Sharing the love of Jesus Christ and changing lives of those with no hope, through God-inspired words and acts of service.
The purpose of Africa Hope Initiatives (AHI) is to be a Christ-centered ministry in East Africa sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the hopeless, poor, and destitute. The United States division of AHI aims to partner with the AHI division based in Kigali, Rwanda, under the leadership of Bishop Theophile Rugubira, Founder and Director. Our organization, based in Greenville, North Carolina, USA, will be raising funds and managing projects to support the mission of Africa Hope Initiatives in East Africa.
Building People: Bible Distribution
As a Christian mission, we believe in the unparalleled power of the Gospel. Our goal is to continue to impact the lives of others by providing Bibles to church leaders throughout East Africa. Discipleship is a key foundation of our ministry, and the initiative of sharing God’s word to the lost, broken, and hopeless is a priority. We take Isaiah 52:7 as a command, and we believe it is our responsibility to “go tell it.” In Rwanda, known as the land of a thousand hills, the good news brings peace, salvation, and beauty.
Impacting Communities: Emergency Relief
We seek to provide emergency food and supply relief to those experiencing natural disasters or catastrophic circumstances. Following the volcano and subsequent earthquakes that led to destruction in Gisenyi in 2021, and during the global pandemic of COVID-19, Africa Hope Initiatives blessed these communities when the needs seemed insurmountable. By being the hands and feet of Jesus, we display the love of our Savior by providing basic needs in dire situations when it seems as if all hope is lost. Our purpose in this life is to genuinely care for others and place their needs before our own. When we bless others, our joy is magnified.
